FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OpenData.org Expands U.S. Dataset with People, Locations, and Addresses

Enhanced Dataset Adds 220 Million People, 275 Million Locations, and 45 Million Addresses with Advanced Reference Identifiers

IRVINE, CA -- December 3, 2025 --

OpenData.org, the world’s largest open global entity graph, today announced a major expansion of its U.S. dataset with the addition of three critical entity types: 220 million people, 275 million locations, and 45 million addresses. This release significantly enhances the platform’s ability to map comprehensive relationships across the business ecosystem, connecting organizations and legal entities to the people who control them and the locations where they operate.

Building on its initial release of 80 million organizations and 100 million legal entities, today’s expansion creates a complete relationship graph that links businesses, executives, directors, officers, ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs), and physical locations. This interconnected view is essential for compliance investigations, risk assessment, investment due diligence, and relationship mapping across the business landscape.

Comprehensive Entity Linkages: People, Companies, and Places

The expanded dataset’s unique strength lies in its comprehensive relationship graph that connects the entire business ecosystem. The 220 million people records include executives, directors, officers, and ultimate beneficial owners, with verified titles, roles, and contact information sourced from legal filings and regulatory records. Users can discover all businesses associated with a specific executive, map decision-makers to their business entities, and trace ownership structures through corporate hierarchies.

The 275 million locations and 45 million addresses encompass headquarters, branch offices, registered addresses, and operational sites, enabling users to identify all locations operated by an organization and understand the complete geographic footprint of any business entity.

Advanced Reference Identifiers for Seamless Integration

The dataset includes advanced reference identifiers that enable unprecedented connectivity with external datasets. For locations, OpenData.org provides GERS ID (Global Entity Reference System), OSM ID (OpenStreetMap identifier), and PlaceKey ID, allowing users to seamlessly connect location data with mapping platforms, geospatial databases, and third-party location intelligence providers.

These standardized identifiers eliminate data silos and enable true interoperability across organizational, location, and demographic datasets. Organizations can now link OpenData.org records with their internal CRM systems, real estate databases, and location-based analytics platforms.

“The addition of people and location entities transforms OpenData.org from a business registry into a complete relationship graph,” said Jose M. Plehn, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of BrightQuery and OpenData.org. “Users can now trace the full context of any business relationship, from the executives who make decisions to the locations where operations occur. This is the foundation for next-generation compliance, risk management, and business intelligence.”

Enabling Advanced Use Cases Across Industries

The expanded dataset enables advanced applications including ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) identification for KYC/AML compliance, executive network analysis for investment due diligence, location-based risk assessment for insurance and lending, real estate and commercial site selection analysis, supply chain mapping and relationship discovery, and enhanced master data management for analytics and AI platforms.

Verified Government Data with Full Privacy Compliance

As with all OpenData.org releases, the expanded dataset is sourced exclusively from official regulatory filings including IRS, Department of Labor, SEC, SBA, USPS, and state and local jurisdictions. The data is available in CSV format and is fully aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy regulations.
